Reason to try KFC again

Today and tomorrow are looking cloudy, but the sun should be back on Friday. Also, it's going to be a bit cooler this week...well, relatively cooler-daytime highs all week will be around 27C, which isn't that cool, but compared to what it's been like recently, it's cool...well, cooler...

When was the last time you went to KFC? It's been a while for me. I usually go about once every 3 or 4 years just to satisfy my craving and then I'm inevitably disappointed as the chicken is greasier and less crispy than I remember.

But, today marks the day that the Chizza returns to KFC outlets around the country.

This time, the Chizza has a whole new look and a brand new flavour, taking its inspiration from a Korean dish called bulgogi. Made from thin, marinated slices of beef or pork, bulgogi is grilled on a stove-top griddle or barbecue, and sometimes served with a leafy vegetable like lettuce on the side. In Korea, the dish is so popular it can be found everywhere, even in hamburgers at fast food chains.

Now, bulgogi is getting a brand new look for fast food consumption, as the star topping for the KFC Chizza, which is said to contain a beautiful balance of beef and chicken, finished off with spinach, mayonnaise, hot peppers and a generous serving of melted cheese. On sale from today for Y980, the Chizza will only be available as long as supplies last, so I know where I'll be stopping on the way home from work tonight...ha ha!
