Happy 30th Anniversary Haagen Dazs!

Good morning everyone,

So, is that enough snow for you? It pretty much snowed all night, didn't it? The good news is that the snow should stop this morning and we can expect cloudy weather for the rest of the day. The bad news is that it'll remain below normal temperatures for the next week or so...I thought the weatherman said it be warmer than usual in February, didn't he? It may warm up, but not this week...the warmest day will see a high of only 8C or so...

Well, here is some news that might warm you up...or make you feel even colder...ha ha!

Haagen Dazs is having its 30th anniversary in Japan and to celebrate is offering two special anniversary edition flavors-Sakura and Rose.

I don't know about you, but in the summer I usually eat 2 or 3 cups of Haagen Dazs a week (there's a shop near my house where I can get them for 209 each). They're the little cups so I don't feel too guilty either...ha ha!

I doubt you'll be able to find these special edition flavours for that price-the website says they will be 284 each. I don't know about you, but I'll probably give them a try...or at least the Sakura one anyway.

I'm sure it will just have a cherryish flavor, and we all know that cherry-flavored ice cream tastes great! In fact, I can't think of a single 'berry' that doesn't make good ice cream-strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, cherry...they're all good!

I don't know if I can say the same thing for rose though...can you imagine what rose flavored ice cream tastes like?

I can't. Whenever I think of 'rose' I think of room freshener and toilet cleaner! Ha ha! However, that won't stop me from giving it a try! I don't think I've ever had a flavour of ice cream from Haagen Dazs that wasn't delicious.

By the way, did you know that Haagen Dazs is an American company? I had no idea. I assumed that with that funky name, it was from Northern Europe-like Finland or Sweden. Apparently, the American who invented the ice cream wanted to come up with an original sounding name and chose that one...I guess you learn something new every day, eh?

Now all I have to do is find out where they are selling these two funky flavours so I can try them and let you know how they taste, all in the name of research of course...hehehe!

Have a great day!
