Good morning everyone,

Did you see the snow yesterday morning?! It was hard to believe, especially when they are calling for a high of 17C tomorrow! 17C!! That's unbelievable! Don't get too used to it though...temperatures will cool back down again towards the end of the week, although the weekend will be nice with highs around 14C or 15C and mostly sunny weather both days. If you're hoping to do something outside, this is probably the weekend to do it!

Today marks the anniversary of the devastating disaster in Tohoku-that some might argue is still continuing as the crippled Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant cotinues to spew contaminated water into the ocean. Thousands of people remain in temporary housing throughout the region and thousands more will never be able to return to 'normal' lives. That makes me so sad. I hope they continue to get the support they need.

After much thought, I've decided to hold a Hanami Party.

I know it might be strange to announce it on such a sad anniversary, but I disagree. If we learned anything from that, it should be that we should enjoy life while we are here!

So, let's have a hanami party to enjoy life!

The perfect day would probably be April 6th, but unfortunately I have a race that day...sorry.

Let's have it on April 13th from 2:30 till 5:30ish! (I have a lesson till 2.)

I think the best place to have it is the same place as always-along the Hon River (Honkawa) just behind the Children's Science Museum (between the old baseball stadium and Chuo Park-about 200m from Aioi Bridge).

I'll supply food and drinks and we'll do some activities as well-something more writing a haiku in English! Ha ha!

The fee will be the same as the Christmas Party-2000 yen, but you don't need to bring any presents this time (unless you want to bring one for me...ha ha!)

Let me know if you're interested. You can email me or call me or there will be a sign up sheet at the school as well, with a map.

Have a great day and make sure you enjoy it!
