Heart Bleed Bug

Good morning everyone,

Today is looking like cloudy weather and a bit cooler with a high around 17C and tomorrow...well, the forecast hasn't changed...they're calling for a 60% chance of rain exactly when we want to have the hanami party! Ha ha! I don't know who, but someone who wants to come to the party is definitely a rainy woman!

So, I will cancel the "Hanami Party" on Sunday. Well, let's not think of it as cancelling...we'll have a party in late May instead. It'll be warmer and less crowded and I'll have time to prepare some stuff to do...if you know anybody who was planning on going to the party, please let them know for me! Thanks!

Have you heard of the 'Heart Bleed Bug'?

It's a problem that affects everyone who uses the internet. One expert said, "On a scale of 1 to 10, this is an 11!"

What is it? So, there are two types of websites we can visit or use. Some of them are 'secure', that means that we believe it is safe to send personal data through those websites because it is encrypted.

Well, it turns out that there was a flaw in the code and that a hacker, if they wanted to, would be able to extract bits of information from the website without website designer or user knowing.

It isn't a virus, so your anti-virus software won't catch it.

What can you do? Well, apparently most of the websites already have a patch so all you probably need to do is update your password, but it's worth checking out if any site you regularly use has been compromised (or fixed). Facebook was, but has been patched, so all I did was change my password.

Anyway, you should look into it yourselves just to make sure...

Have a great day!
