Changing salad dressing...

Good morning everyone,

Well, with this weather, does it count as good? I guess, given that this is rainy season and all, we can't really call it 'bad weather', can we? Ha ha! Besides, it won't rain all day. Just till noon or so and then it'll be cloudy the rest of the day and tomorrow before the sun comes back out on Tuesday.

Of course non-oil salad dressings have been around for a while. In fact, 'aojiso' dressing never had oil and it's been around for ages! But recently you can tons of different flavors and they're coming up with new ones all the time. I love 'aojiso' dressing and it's the one I get the most often, but recently I tried 'ume' and it was also pretty darn good too! I'm definitely adding it to my rotation (I changed salad dressings every so often...that's the extent of excitement in my life...ha ha!).

With summer here and me sweating like a pig every time I go for a run, I thought it'd be a good idea to try a 'shio' dressing for summer. This one isn't non-oil though, but that's ok. I've been going non-oil for so long, I don't think a bit of oil will kill me. However, I still might have to change dressings.

You see, when I bought it, I wasn't thinking about much else, other than getting a 'salty' salad dressing for summer. On the label, it describes it as 'salty' with sesame seed oil and garlic. Sounds great, right? Well, it is actually. However, what they don't mention on the label is that the garlic is the main ingredient, not the salt.

I'm pretty sure that there won't be any vampires coming around for a while! Ha ha! I guess it's good, because garlic keeps your blood thin and it helps stave off colds (probably because nobody wants to get too close to you! Ha ha!). If I was working in a small office, I'd have been kicked out by now I think. My students are so polite though, they don't say anything, they just do this...

I think that happens almost every lesson after lunch since I started using this salad dressing...ha ha! If that's not a sign, I don't know what is. I guess I can go back to 'ume', it was pretty good...

Have you tried any good non-oil salad dressings recently?

Have a great day!
