A thousand cuts...

Good morning everyone,

Well, it's looking like we're going to be without rain for another day or two and we may even see some sun tomorrow...maybe. Sunday is looking like there is a slight chance of rain before we see nice weather finally rolling in from Monday. Temperatures will remain in the high 20s for the next few days...

The other day I was cutting up some vegies for dinner and set the knife down on the counter to peel a carrot or something like that...maybe I was a bit tired, but I guess I didn't put the knife far enough onto the counter and it slipped and fell down onto the floor. Of course I jumped out of the way-the last thing I wanted was a kitchen knife sticking out of the top of my foot-how do you explain that to the doctor at the emergency room? Ha ha!

Luckily the knife hit the floor on the butt (the rounded handle end) rather than the point. Unluckily, once it hit the floor, it bounced and spun and nicked my ankle in the process. At first I was worried that it would have cut me, but when I looked down, I couldn't even see a little scratch! Whew!

So, I picked up the stupid knife (it was the KNIFE'S fault after all...ha ha!), washed it off and started cutting up my carrot. After a minute or so, I went to the fridge to grab the chicken and happened to glance down...well, let's just say that I'm glad I don't faint at the sight of blood! Blood was gushing out of my leg...or so it looked anyway...

I wiped off the blood and it turned out to be a tiny, tiny, little scratch that I could barely find. I put a band aid on it and forgot about it.

How could this happen? I'm blaming the apartment's designer/architect. First of all, the counter is slightly sloped downward so that things just slide off it all the time and the kitchen is so small that I couldn't move any further out of the way...ha ha! Hmmm...I wonder if I can sue...ha ha! It might be a bit tough, as I can barely find the mark now! Ha ha!

Have a great day! And watch out for your kitchen utensils-they are out to get you!
