Things I learnt yesterday...

Good morning everyone,

There was a little light rain earlier but it's stopped for the moment. Expect to see more rain after lunchtime and off and on all day. Tomorrow we'll continue to see rain as the typhoon passes to the north of us. It's looking pretty weak, but that doesn't mean that we won't get a lot of rain so be careful. From Friday the nice weather will be back and we can expect mostly sunny skies and warm weather through the weekend.

I ended up going to a bbq in Kabe yesterday and here are a few things I learnt...

1. Kabe is really, really far! First I rode my bicycle to Yokogawa Station, then I took the Kabe Line to Omachi where we hopped in my friend's car and then drove to their place. I left home at 9:45 and got to their house at 12:00! It takes less time to go to Hakata! Ha ha!

2. The people whose lives were lost and homes were damaged were much more in the 'city' area than I thought. I had an image of them barely in Hiroshima City. The worst damaged areas are visible from Tenmaya in Midorii!. That's way closer than I imagined.

3. I'm getting fat. No, seriously. I have hardly been running since I came back from Canada and I've been eating like a pig! I've put on about 2kgs! That ended yesterday. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to get out for a run till Friday (C'mon! There's a typhoon coming! ha ha!)

4. Time flies! It's already September 24th. My friend is coming to Hiroshima in 10 days or so and I haven't even begun to get the place ready! Yikes!

So, I need to get in shape by November 3rd (the first race of the season) and get my room cleaned up by October 4th...there's no time to lose!

Gotta' go!

Have a great day!
