Charlie, Charlie, are you there?

Good morning everyone,

This awesome weather is sticking around for a couple more days-today and tomorrow will both see highs of 28C with blue skies. The weekend isn't looking too good though, Saturday will be cloudy and Sunday will see some rain and then it'll be sunny and warm again from Monday.

Do you want to talk to a ghost? Well, now you can! It's called the 'Charlie, Charlie Challenge' and it's taking the internet by storm!

Here is how it works, with the full understanding that I am not advising you to do this, people. Do not start trying to summon spirits and blame it on me. Ha ha!

Come with pencils

Remember those things from elementary school? Challenge-takers are laying two of them on a piece of paper in the form of a cross. They write "yes" and "no" in the four boxes formed by the cross. I'm guessing that mechanical pencils may also work, but they have to be round (not hexagonal) because they have to roll...

The question is then asked, "Charlie, Charlie, are you here?" If the writing utensils roll toward yes, then it means you can ask Charlie whatever you want. "Yes" and "no" are erased from the squares and filled in with questions that are to be answered.

There is supposedly more than one "Charlie"

According to the Internet -- because everything we read on the Internet is true -- "Charlie" is actually a group of Mexican demons. I have no idea why they chose that name.

But don't take my word for it. Check out the compilation:

Parents are going to say ...

I already know what the older generation is thinking: "This is nothing but a mashup of the Ouija board and 'Bloody Mary'!"

Who didn't repeat "Bloody Mary" a few times in an attempt to get an image to appear in a mirror in a darkened bathroom? Kids today want the same thrill, apparently.

We can almost guarantee this will be a movie
Someone is probably already writing the screenplay for this one and it'll probably be in theatres by the end of the year! Ha ha!

Clearly, we don't believe any of this is real. But just in case, we rebuke all things unholy.
Have a great day!

PS If you try the game and actually talk to Charlie, can you ask him what the winning lottery numbers are for the next draw for me? Thanks!

We have the same thing as 'Charlie, Charlie Challenge' in Japan.
It is called "kokkuri-san", and it is said to be a ghost of a fox.
As a child,I did kokkuri-san with some of my friends.
Firstly, we put a sheet of paper in which a table of Japanese syllabary and an exit and an entrance for a ghost were written. Next we said , "kokkuri-san, kokkuri-san, will you come to us from the south entrance, please?" Then we asked some questions. When we got answers, our fingers automatically moved and pointed some letters in the paper. Although some of the answers didn't make any sence at all, others came true !! Isn't it amazing? Why don'you ask him a winning number of Summer Jumbo? But one thing, I have to tell you.
In fact, kokkuri-san is sometimes so greedy that you might have to share the money with him . Otherwise sometihng really bad could happen to you! Be careful, ha ha !
