Enjoying Two Days Off a Bit Too Much

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday's weather turned out to be much better than expected and today's isn't looking too bad. Well, it's going to be overcast, but at least it won't rain. Speaking of rain, it's looking like we can expect it to rain for most of the week starting from Tuesday. The fact that there are 3 typhoons blowing around in the Pacific Ocean might be influencing the weather, but it doesn't look like either of the first two (numbers 9 and 10) will hit Japan and it's too early to say where #11 will end up.

As you all know, I've been helping out Epoca Kids Club get started and it's going well. However, now that they've got teachers and they've got a bit of experience under their belts, I can step back a bit and start taking two days off a week again. This weekend is the first time I've had two days off in a row for ages! And here's how it's been going...

Saturday after work I was supposed to head to a beer garden with some old friends. However, the rain arriving earlier than expected put the kibosh on that plan. We ended up going to a bar near my school called Cusco Café. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Cusco is really overrated. Don't get me wrong-the food there is good. However, it isn't great and it's a bit overpriced and the service is really, really slow. We had an all-you-can-drink plan there and decided that we still needed some more beer and headed to another bar for another all-you-can-drink deal. The food at the second place was better and the service was a bit better too...it was 555, I'm sure you've heard me talk about that place before.

Needless to say, I wasn't feeling in tip-top shape yesterday morning. And what better way to shake off a hangover than having another beer? Or two? Or three? So, I went to Zoom Zoom Stadium to watch the Carp beat the Swallows for their 4th win in a row which has catapulted them into a virtual tie for 2nd place with the Giants. (Technically, they are percentage points the Giants but they have 4 games in hand over the Giants and 2 over the Tigers.)

So, will I have beer again today? Not a chance! Ha ha! I looked at myself in the mirror last night and I couldn't see my belly and butt at the same time(they were so big that only one or the other would fit in the mirror...ha ha!). Ok...maybe not really, but I really, really need my leg to recover so I can get back out and start running again, hopefully next weekend, but definitely the weekend after that at the absolutely latest!

Until then, I'll be cutting back on snacks and beer and trying to get myself back in shape...wish me luck!

Have a great day!
