I'll never EVER get used to earthquakes

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was steamy all day along with a few sprinkles of rain here and there-nothing to force you to use an umbrella though. Today will be windier and greyer and there's a chance of rain in the afternoon (although, as I look outside right now, it's starting to spit). This week will see unsettled weather as we feel some effects from Typhoon 9 which took a bit of a strange path and is now hitting China. It's looking more and more like Typhoon 11 will head pretty close to Hiroshima and will be here on Friday. Hopefully, it won't be that strong...

Did last night's earthquake wake you up? It was centred in Kyushu around Oita and was a 'strong' 5 level there and obviously quite a bit weaker here. There was a bit of shaking in my apartment, but I'm on the 9th floor and my fear/hatred of earthquakes is well-known, so I'm a bit more sensitive to them.

And I'm not apologizing for that! Usually, we think that men shouldn't be afraid of anything and we should definitely never admit to being afraid if we are. If we say we are afraid of something, other men will think we're a coward. I'm sure that any women reading this will think that I'm making this up, but any man reading this will completely understand!

So, I won't admit to being afraid of anything...other than earthquakes. Let's be honest, the earth shakes. That's friggin' scary! And we don't know how strong it's going to be, how long it's going to last or if our lives will be forever changed in the few seconds that an earthquake lasts.

After last night's earthquake, it took me about 20 minutes or so to get back to sleep-mostly because it was so hot in my room but also because there were announcements every couple of minutes telling us not to worry about a tsunami...anybody who had managed to sleep through the earthquake would have been woken up by that for sure! It was more annoying than being woken up in the first place! Ha ha!

I did fall back to sleep eventually though. How about you?

Have a great day!
