How to...clean a water stain

Good morning everyone,

Are you enjoying this weather? I know I am. Well, I was until yesterday. The problem isn't the weather-it's going to continue to be sunny and warm all through Silver Week. We may see some rain next weekend, but that's so far away...till then, it's going to be great weather! So, why won't I be enjoying you ask? Because I've got the world's biggest pimple on the side of my nose. It's huge! It's almost the same size as my nose! I might to have to give it a name, it's going to be with me for a while...

Just like the water stains on my coffee table...but hopefully not any longer, if this works.

If you have kids at home, or enjoy having guests over, you’ll probably encounter water rings on your wooden table at some point. Some people just can’t bring themselves to use coasters, can they?

A quick search online will probably give you dozens of tried-and-tested methods of removing water rings. Many of these methods suggest removing water rings by applying something such as toothpaste, vinegar, a paste of baking soda and water, car wax, or even mayonnaise, to get rid of the stain. We’re sure you Internet savvy people have seen many of these life hacks, but if you’re worried about getting a new stain from the stuff suggested, give this simple method a try. All you need is a hair dryer!

Simply set the dryer on high heat and direct it at the water stain. Depending on the size of the stain, it might take some time to completely dry out the area, but the stain should disappear eventually.

▼ Gone with the wind!

After the stain has successfully been banished, apply a thin layer of your regular wood wax polish (if you don’t use one, a bit of olive oil should do the trick) to the surface, buffing it to restore its lustre.

I'm not sure if this method would work for water stains that have been there for extended periods of time, but it’s probably worth a shot!

That'll be one of the many things I try this week to get my apartment's been a bit of a disaster area since my trip to Bali...

Have a great day!
