Getting my fill of oysters...again!

Good morning everyone,

It was a nice day yesterday. Perfect weather for running! The sky was grey almost all day and the morning was cool and the afternoon comfortable at 16C. Today, tomorrow and Wednesday will be more of the same with highs in the mid-teens and mostly sunny weather, although it may be a bit cloudy on Wednesday. Rains could roll in on Thursday and stick around for Friday, but then it should clear up again for the weekend.

I finally made it to the Ujina Oyster Shack this season. I kept meaning to go, but I just never had the time up till yesterday. In fact I probably didn't have the time yesterday, but it was for an end-of-year party, so I didn't really have any choice...ha ha!

And it was as great as I remembered. It hasn't changed a bit since the last time I went. There are tons of different kinds of seafood-shrimp, eel, squid, scallops and turban shell. And something else...hmmm...what am I forgetting? Oh, yeah! Oysters! We ate a ton of oysters!

I guess there was one thing they had this year that I don't remember them having last time I went-meat. Well, to be honest, they had sausages last year, but this year they had some pork and beef as well.

It was all good! But, to be honest, I think the best part was the baked potato! Ha ha! I can't remember the last time I had a baked potato. I forgot how good they were!! I'm definitely putting one or two...or four on my bbq next year!

It was crowded though. I'm so glad we decided to go at 11 in the morning. By the time we were must have been around 1 or quarter past...there was a pretty long line of people waiting for a seat.

I didn't have too many oysters though, I'm going to the oyster shack in Kusatsu today, and I figured that having a ton of oysters two days in a row was just playing with fire. Ha ha!

I'm going to head there in the late afternoon-before that, I wanna' see if there are any good sales at Edion after San Frecce's big championship win. (for those of you who don't know, in Japan, whenever a team wins a championship, a lot of the local shops have sales as well as the main sponsor having a sale all over Japan). Edion, which is a national electronics store, is the main sponsor of Hiroshima's soccer team, which just won the league title.

I guess I should enjoy it-in Toronto we have teams for baseball, hockey, basketball and soccer and the last time any of them won a  championship was over 20 years ago. The soccer and basketball team never have and the hockey team hasn't won a championship since I was born! That's more than 25 30 35 years!

Have a great day!
