Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

It's going to be a warm Christmas here in Hiroshima. We're expecting a high of around 14C today and mostly sunny skies. The rest of the week will be a bit cooler with highs between 9C and 11C all week. Still, there is no rain or snow in the forecast, so I guess that's a good thing-unless you're one of those people who likes hiking in the snow or going skiing...

It doesn't feel very Christmassy this year, does it? Yesterday I had a few minutes to spare, so I swung by Fukuya and didn't see that many more shoppers than usual. And when I was heading down Hondori, it seemed only slightly busier than usual. I guess by that time all of the happy couples were already enjoying their Christmas cake and exchanging presents.

It's probably feeling a bit less Christmassy for me because we didn't have a Christmas party at Urban. However, only 2 or 3 people asked me about it, so I guess not that many people missed it anyway! ha ha! To be honest, I always enjoy hosting the party, but with the school changing to all privates this year, it didn't make sense. Most of my students aren't coming to my school to socialize, so they aren't really interested in going to go events where they won't know anyone except for me.

Also, this year I didn't change my schedule for Christmas so I'm just working a regular shift today and will have a Christmas party at home with some friends later this week. It'll be more like an early New Year's party though, I guess. But the one thing it will have is turkey...and presents, and beer, and hopefully lots of good cheer!

So, even though I'm not really in the Christmas mood yet, I'm not being a Grinch-I hope that everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! But do me a favour and don't wish people a 'Happy Merry Christmas'. I saw some people saying it on tv last night and it made me laugh. Please choose one or the other...ha ha!

Have a great day!

Re: No title

Hey Fumi!

I did see the full moon on Christmas. It was pretty special-I heard the next one is something like 19 years from now...
