More funky chips from Calbee

Good morning everyone,

It's going to be another gorgeous day today, and tomorrow and the next day and the day after that and...well, let's not get too carried away. From Thursday it's going to cool down. Until then, we can enjoy mostly sunny weather with highs around 18C.

The way I've been writing about potato chips, you'd think I was a huge fan. Not even close. I've gone years without having any potato chips in the past. Not recently though. Do you remember the Strawberry Shortcake potato chips? They were...well, interesting...but Calbee couldn't be accused of false advertising. They tasted just like strawberry shortcake. And the more recent Tom Yum Kun and Mapodofu chips also tasted just like the real thing-and they were both awesome!

Now Calbee and the casual-gourmet French chain Ore no French have released an “Uni and Dried Roe Kyokujo Cream Sauce” potato chip flavor.

I can't decide if this sounds awesome or disgusting...what do you think? Would you like to try this flavour? If it's half as good as the Mapodofu and Tom Yum Kun ones, it'll be worth it.

The flavor was specially conceived by the head chef of the Kagurazaka area location of Ore no French, Yousuke Yamazaki, and contains real powdered uni and mullet roe.

And if you think it sounds a bit's going to get even weirder...Calbee plans on releasing three other new flavours, "Tuna-Corn Curry", "Sour cream and Scallops", and "Mayonnaise, Sesame seeds and Ponzu" in the future. I'm not making these up! These are really from Calbee! And they're coming soon...which ones sound the best?

Have a great day!
