Mennonite Restaurant

 Good morning everyone,

It will be a bit of a rainy day here in Canada. But it looks like it'll stop just while my flight is taking off. Hopefully that means my flight will be on time and I won't miss my connection. Even if I make it, I can just catch the last bus. Hiroshima looks like it'll be hot and humid (no surprise, really) all weekend, but may cool down a bit during the week.

Do you know what Mennonites are? It's hard to describe. They're a religious sect that have eschewed modern conveniences and continue to live in farming communities. These days there are different types of Mennonites-some are more strict than others, just like any other religion/belief. Anyway, there's a Mennonite restaurant near my parent's house and it is great! They have lots of traditional food made the old-fashioned way. The only problem is that it's an all-you-can-eat buffet, so people try to see how much they can actually eat. Really, we shouldn't. I can't believe how overweight Canadians have become. Sure, it's just based on my observations, but I have to say that I have been shocked by how much everyone weighs.

Anyway, buffets are great-especially ones at Mennonite restaurants-as long as you enjoy them in moderation. Like 3-4 times a year is enough...ha ha!

Have a great day!
