Can Abenomics fix this?
Can anyone tell me what the sun looks like? I think I've only seen it once since I came back from Canada...or that might have been the moon...has the sun been out in Hiroshima this month? It won't be coming out today or tomorrow or the next day...or even the next day. We may see sun on Saturday. That'd be nice...if I haven't wilted by then...but seriously, it looks like the typhoon will hit us tomorrow in the early afternoon.
Talk about a shrinking population...a survey of Japanese people aged 18 to 34 found that almost 70 percent of unmarried men and 60 percent of unmarried women are not in a relationship.
Moreover, many of them have never got close and cuddly. Around 42 percent of the men and 44.2 percent of the women admitted they were virgins.
The government won’t be pleased that sexlessness is becoming as Japanese as sumo and sake. The administration of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has talked up boosting the birthrate through support for child care, but until young people become more interested in bedroom gymnastics there’ll be no improvement in the birthrate.
Far from getting together and getting it on, the sexes are growing apart. There are now many more virgins than in 2010, when the last study was conducted and when only 36.2 percent of men and 38.7 percent of women under 35 said they had never had sex.
There isn't a comprehensive test for 18- to 34-year-olds in the United States, but the Centers for Disease Control did run a study on 20- to 24-year-olds and found that 12.3 and 14.3 percent of 20- to 24-year-olds are virgins in the U.S.
I guess the US won't be having any birthrate problems anytime soon...ha ha! All joking aside, how can people make it to 34 without never having been in an intimate relationship? What are they interested in? Sure, it's great to have a hobby and all that...but isn't having a hobby just supposed to be a way to pick up girls (or guys, depending on your preference)?
I have to admit that those stats make me feel a bit better about myself-I was a bit of a late-bloomer myself. I had no interest in girls until I was 16 or 17 when all my friends had girlfriends by the time they were 14 or 15. Apparently, I had nothing to worry about...ha ha!
Have a great day! And if you're between 18 and 35, go out and find someone to be intimate with today. It's fun!
