Mud bath...

Good morninge everyone,

It was a bit of a chilly ride to work this morning...brrr. And it was a little crowded on the streets too. So, I had to ride a little more slowly than usual. And, on top of that, I saw that tomorrow it'll rain all day...the good news is that it's a good excuse to lay around the house doing nothing! The bad news is that I can't feel like I'm doing it by choice...ha ha!

After yesterday's depressing blog I was hoping to write something a bit more upbeat today. I can't find any interesting or 'light' stories in the news so I guess you'll have to read through another of my childhood stories. I'll try to keep it short.

If you've been reading my blog regularly you'll know that when I was a kid I was pretty adventurous. One time my mother took me to the local village when she went to visit one of her friends. The village was the closest to our house and it had a population of less than 100. It had a convenience store and a church and...well, that's about it. Anyway, when she was visiting with her friend, I went out exploring with her friend's daughter, Sandra. We must have been about 6 or 7 at the time. We were walking around the outside of the village when Sandra fell into some mud. It went up to about her waist and she couldn't get out so I jumped in to help her and after what felt like an eternity, we were able to get out of the mud, but she had lost both of her shoes so she started to cry. Being the hero that I am I jumped back in to find them but to no avail. So, covered in mud from head to toe and her without her shoes, we went back home. My mom was sitting on the stoop having a coffee with her mom and commented that she was glad the two kids walking by weren't hers when she suddenly realized that, in fact they were. Ha ha! I thought I would get in big trouble for Sandra losing her shoes but they just hosed us down with the garden hose and washed our clothes, laughing the whole time...ha ha!

Have a great day! And stay out of the mud.
